Albatera is a medium-sized village with white houses and wide streets, lined with palm trees. The church that is located on the main square has a beautiful baroque door, and there is nearby a lovely large natural park, surrounded by hundreds of palm trees.
History of Albatera:
The history of "Albatera", apparently with pre-Roman and Iberian influencies, the name in arabici means "to batar", gives the impression that the origin of the village is Arabian. Albatera is located in the Valencian community, in the region of the 'low Fertile valley of the Safe one' (in other words Alicante), with mostly level landscape, staggered in ascending form of the South to North, Albatera is at the foot of the mountain range with the greater heights. The town is well connected via the motorway and has its own train station. Albatera is south of the cosmopolitan capital ALICANTE, a beautiful city full of history and wonderful architecture. The airport at Alicante can be reached within a 20-25 minute drive.

Tradition of Albatera:
The village's economic activities are almost evenly split between agriculture and industry and it has a complex network of canals and irrigation channels, some dating back to the Roman times. Citrus fruits, vegetables and dates are some of the typical produce grown, which farmers sell at the local markets throughout the province. In addition to agriculture, hemp products such as brooms and brushes are also produced.There are many fiestas (festivals) throughout the Albatera calendar, some of which are a real spectacle & well worth a look. The cuisine is another major bonus made up of mainly traditional Spanish fare; although international tastes are also catered for.
